Here is a good video that illustrates the proven techniques from Stretching Scientifically.  Kurz and Mierzejewski are right on when they ask what good are kicks if you have to warm up for 10-20 minutes before you can execute them?  The book above and the video below will help you achieve kicking power without having to warm up first.  (Hint - one of the keys is to start every day with some dynamic stretching)
