Photos From The Hapkido Cane Video Shoot

Alain Burrese attempts to lift his attacker off the ground with the hook of his cane.  While he may not have actually lifted him, it did make things quite uncomfortable for the attacker.

Notice how the shaft of the cane is in position to smash the attackers face as his attention is drawn elsewhere due to the cane's hook.

After hooking the groin, Alain smashes the shaft into his attacker's face.

Just because the attacker is falling away does not mean he is out of the fight.  You must be prepared to follow up with continuous strikes as needed to protect yourself.

Because the attacker recovered from the groin strike and face smash, Alain followed up with a thrust with the cane's tip to the throat.  Note - this can be extremely dangerous and should only be used in the most severe circumstances where you may be seriously injured or killed.

Once the attacker is down and no longer a threat, seek safety and call the authorities.

(Thanks to Todd Howie for being the attacker and thanks to Jonas Bailey for taking the pictures)
