Mediation is a voluntary dispute resolution process where a
neutral third person (the "Mediator") meets with the
parties, and assists them in reaching a mutually acceptable
settlement of their dispute. A mediator will work with both
parties to obtain a global resolution of all issues.
It is a quick and inexpensive method of settling your
legal disputes.
In
addition to the financial and emotional savings of mediation,
participants are able to fashion their own agreement rather
than turning the decision making over to a judge or jury.
Mediations that occur during litigation (after one
party has filed a lawsuit against another) are often called
settlement conferences. Mediators
in these sessions are often referred to as settlement masters.
You have most undoubtedly heard that most cases settle
before going to trial. Settlement
conferences are the places many matters settle.
Alain Burrese is a mediator and attorney trained in both
facilitative and evaluative mediation styles.
His training includes the Mediating the Litigated
Case course at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution
at Pepperdine University School of Law.
Alain will use various tools and strategies to assist
you in resolving your dispute.
He has the tenacity to see the case through to
resolution, and his resolve to resolve cases means he will
work for as long as it takes to get the matter settled.
You can contact him regarding mediations and settlement
conferences at 406-544-7410.
Alain strives to
provide a safe environment where parties
with disputes, both litigated matters, or pre-litigation, can
come together to resolve the conflict and retain control over
the outcome. A
wide range of mediation and settlement conference services are
offered to assist individuals who are interested in resolving
their own disputes.
Services may be provided at any
location where suitable facilities are available.
