Lock On Volume 1: Wrist Locks

The first of my Lock On DVD series is just about ready. Aiki Productions will have it available in the next couple of weeks.

Lock On: Joint Locking Essentials Volume 1: Wrist Locks
Produced by Aiki Productions

Joint locks are some of the most versatile techniques found in martial art curriculums. They can be used to submit opponents, control rowdy people, or injure attackers, making them ideal for various self-defense and violent encounters, and a must for anyone working in law enforcement or security. Unfortunately, they can also be some of the most difficult techniques to learn and master. That is until now. The Lock On: Joint Locking Essentials series is a comprehensive guide to joint locks and one of the most complete programs available for practical joint locking information. In this original Aiki Productions DVD series, Hapkido and Self-defense instructor Alain Burrese presents detailed instruction on the mechanics of each lock, proper execution, and various applications to enable the viewer to learn the essentials of applying joint locks in any situation. This program is a must for every serious student of martial arts and self-defense.

Volume 1: Wrist Locks includes detailed instruction on a variety of wrist locks, including: an explanation of the wrist, outer wrist lock, inner wrist lock, reverse handshake, S locks, faucet locks, and more. If you want to take your joint locking ability to the next level, you must have Lock On: Joint Locking Essentials Volume 1: Wrist Locks.

Alain Burrese's martial art and self-defense career started in 1982, and includes living and training in South Korea where he continues to return and train on a regular basis. He teaches Self-defense, Safety, and Martial Art programs around the country and his previous works include Hard-Won Wisdom From the School of Hard Knocks, Hapkido Hoshinsul, and Streetfighting Essentials.

Fighter's Fact Book 2

Fighter's Fact Book 2 by Loren W. Christensen is now being offered at a presale price from Turtle Press. It will be released in January 2007.

I was one of a number of people who helped Loren by contributing a chapter on kicking for this book, and it is an honor to be among the talented people that are featured in this book that is sure to be a great resource for anyone's self-defense library.

This is from Turtle Press:

You will fight how you train. This is the theme of Fighter's Fact Book 2: Street Fighting Essentials and when you've mastered the skills taught in the book, you will truly be ready to defend yourself in some of the most desperate situations imaginable. Nearly a dozen veteran instructors of street oriented martial arts have come together with Loren Christensen to teach you how to defend yourself against multiple attackers, violent dogs, knives, close quarter attacks, and attackers impervious to pain. Then they show you how to make your street techniques fast and explosive, and how to prepare yourself mentally to use extreme force. The skills taught here are not for the faint hearted. These are hardcore techniques intended to save your life or the life of a loved one.

In addition to Loren Christensen's no-nonsense instruction on justified use of extreme tactics, figthing wounded, attacking the eyes and neck, surviving a dog attack and using the mini-flashlight to ward off an attacker, you'll get expert insight from:

Lt. Col. Dave Grossman: Army Special Forces, psychologist - on conditioning the mind

Iain Abernethy: England's leading exponent of applied karate - on street sparring

Rory A. Miller: corrections officer, tactical team trainer - on in-fighting

Kris Wilder: multiple black belt holder & international competitor - on punching power

Lawrence Kane: martial artist and football stadium security supervisor - on shock blocks

Alain Burrese: hapkido expert, and former bouncer and bodyguard - on kicking skill

Wim Demeere: Belgian full-contact fighter and personal trainer - on street sanshou

Richard Dimitri: veteran fighter and popular trainer - on using The Shredder

Mark Mireles: LA cop, twice Medal of Valor recipient - on chokes and clinching

Tim Delgman: 9th-degree jujitsu black belt - on throws for the street

Dan Anderson: karate champion and arnis master - on fighting with single stick

"I was most pleased that my friends agreed to contribute to this book. I was pleased for my own selfish reason in that I would get to learn from them, as I have so often before. And I was pleased that their contribution, based on their experiences on the street, would make this book the highly informative one it is." - Loren W. Christensen from the Introduction

Update

I have not made any posts for quite some time. It has been a hectic last couple of months including some family illness that took a lot of time. I am now back at it, and doing a lot of catching up.

Regarding Attacking Back, self-defense, and martial arts, I have completed the first of my Lock On dvds on joint locks with Aiki Productions. Volume 1 - Wrist Locks is complete and Aiki Productions should have it for sale shortly. We will be filming Volume 2 - Arm Bars and Elbow Techniques very soon, and both volumes should be for sale be the end of the year or early January. The final three volumes will be filmed in early 2007 and all five will be available by Spring.

The Lock On series will be a must for anyone who wants to take their joint locking skills to a higher level.

Additionally, the cane dvd I filmed with Paladin Press will also be released this Spring. This will be an excellent program for anyone who wants to defend themselves and attack back with a cane.

I'm busy working on a couple other projects that may film with Paladin Press, and a couple for Aiki as well. 2006 was a pretty productive year, but 2007 will be even better.

Stay tuned for more advice on self-defense and attacking back as well as updates to what I am doing here at this blog. Now that I am back into the groove, I will be making more frequent posts again.

Stay safe and have enjoy the holiday season,

Alain
